Drill Scriptor
The Drill Scriptor is a desktop Java application used to design drills for the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band. The Aggie Band has a unique marching style that is not supported by commercially available products so I put together this little thing. I may adapt it for use by high school military marching bands sometime. There is also an Applet for viewing the animations of drills on a web page.
drillscriptor.zip - Source and class files as well as one example drill (demo.abd)
drillscriptor_setup.exe - Windows installer
Linux Alarm Clock
This is a little hack that allows you to use music (or movie) files on your computer as alarms. All it does is add a cron job to run totem with a file that you specify at a time you specify. The whole thing is pretty much a hack, as I was just writing something that would be useful for me, but if you like the idea you can download the tar. It comes with a little install script that should work. Also I’ve only used it in Ubuntu, but I can’t think of a compelling reason it wouldn’t work with any other distro (just make sure that ruby and totem are installed, and you might check the location of the root crontab).
