Abdication!
No time to blog folks, but as I fear I’ve been neglecting you for too long, here’s a charming little link some of you may enjoy. The best part is Appendix A.

In an astonishing series of blunders on both sides, the Dorm 11 Chess Match has ended. Though black had white on a silver platter, it only took one spectacularly bad move to open the way for the white queen to end the game. I admit, I had worried that with the inconsistent play, neither side would be able to muster enough coordination for checkmate. It turns out, though, that you don’t necessarily need several good moves to win; just one bad one to lose.
UPDATE: If you never felt like reading the notation and playing the game out now you can watch it visually.
It overlooks all the things that are designed specifically for short people. For instance:
Backseats
Shower heads
Stairs
Airplanes
Water fountains
Tents
Buses
Attics
Shorts
Strike zone…
The list goes on and on. When are we as a society going to realize how easy vertically advantaged people have it?

I just discovered my new favorite Biblical advice regarding drinking. In Isaiah 5, sandwiched between a condemnation of those who are wise in their own eyes and those who acquit the guilty is verse 22:
“Woe to those who are mighty heroes at drinking wine and men of strength mixing alcoholic drinks!” (Amplified Version)
I can’t improve on that; feel free to drink, but don’t be a mighty hero :^)
